Ask yourself what the point is of holding on to your past. See it for what it is : Understand that it's suffering, disengage, and allow it to fade away. You don't even think of your past anymore. when you understand that these thiings are suffering, renunciation happens as a direct result, and the deeper the understanding, the more they fade. Eventually they are just not part of your repertoire anymore. You look at the world outside and it fade away: you sit in your hut and the whole world disappears. You understand that this is what meditation is all about. Mediatation is the art of letting things dsiappear and fade, letting them vanish. It's movement toward emptiness.
